In November, Free State Legal Project held a Will Power Party. The event helped over 20 clients better protect themselves and their families by helping them create legal documents including wills, power of attorneys, and advanced medical directives. Seven lawyers from the community volunteered their services.

FreeState Legal Project marks first success with celebration

Free State Legal Project opened its doors to the low-income LGBT community on May 23, 2011. Current types of cases considered by the pro bono attorney panel include: simple estate planning, Social Security Disability, divorce/dissolution, employment discrimination, housing discrimination and name and gender identification changes. The call-in intake hours are on Mondays (9am-1pm), Wednesdays (5-7pm) and Thursdays (9am-1pm). The phone number for intake calls is: 410.625.LGBT (5428).
